Performance Investigation of Biomass Gasification for Syngas and Hydrogen Production Using Aspen Plus

This study presents a reliable model using Aspen Plus process simulator capable of performing sensitivity analysis the downdraft gasification linked to hydrogen production unit. Effects key factors, including temperature and steam biomass ratio (SBR) on syngas composition, calorific value are discussed then optimal conditions for maximum extracted. The is validated by experimental other modeling data found be in great agreement. results obtained only air as agent indicate that higher temperatures favorable product gas with content value. Moreover, consumption gasifying leads increasing heating compared use agent. Finally, show have highest output from sawdust 800˚C gasifier 0.6 SBR.
